A 90-day nisi period applies after the judgment of divorce is entered before any divorce becomes final. For joint petitions, the judgment of divorce nisi isn’t entered until 30 days after the court approves the dissolution agreement, making the total waiting period 120 days from the hearing date. To file in Massachusetts, a spouse must have lived in the state for one year, or the grounds for divorce must have occurred within Massachusetts while the couple resided there.
